Description
This announcement was mistakenly shown as a PreSolicitation Notice for Soliciation number W52H09-07-R-HEPP. This should have been a Sources Sought. SOURCES SOUGHT INTERESTED PARTIES PM SKOT requests information prior to release of any resultant solicitation. The information within this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date. This information is subject to ch ange and is not binding upon the Government. Updated information will be provided in a subsequent notice or synopsis, if and when necessary. PM SKOT wishes to identify POTENTIAL SOURCES that are capable of providing containers that can store heavy duty construction equipment such as 40+ lb pavement breakers, concrete saws, chain saws, grinders&.etc, as well as miscellaneous items that support a new system. The shipping constraints of air transportation and the Primary Mover (M1084 5ton truck) limit the container dimensions. Our intent is to package our tools in a container so that we do not protrude above the top of the cab, keeping transpor t issues to a minimum. Also, to protect the equipment from outer elements (heat, rain, water, sand&etc.) while stowed. Reference: " M1084 Tech Crane Specs See attached Crane document. The containers must meet the following specifications: " Height requirements: o Max height = 52 " Length and Width requirements: o Area #1: Dimensions- 55 length x 74 wide (Used to secure heavy duty construction tools and equipment; boxes #1 and #2). These tools and equipment will be powered by electric, hydraulic, diesel, and gasoline. Proper HAZMAT venting will be required for the container that houses the gas powered equipment. o Area #2: Dimensions- 31 length x 74 wide (Used to secure heavy duty construction tools and equipment; boxes #3 and #4). o Area #3: Dimensions- 62 length x 19 wide (Used to secure miscellaneous non-HAZMAT equipment) o Area#4: Dimensions- 8 length x 74 wide (Used as extra cargo space) o These numbers are rough estimates and are not firm; they may fluctuate but only by inches. " The containers must be composed of plastic or composite type material. Metallic boxes will not suffice. " Containers must be organized to house equipment (shelves, compartments&.etc). " Due to crane limitations, containers must not weigh more than 5000 lbs (including equipment) at end of truck bed and no more than 3500 lbs (including equipment) at 10 ft from end of truck bed. " Must be four way forkliftable and able to be picked up by sling load. Should have recesses or bracket mounts to secure tie down straps. " Must be shippable and capable of being secured and/or locked. " Must be resistant to outer elements (heat, rain, wind, water, ice, sand&etc.) " Containers must align with back 8 horizontal tie-down points for secure stowage. Responses must include the weight of the containers, as well as the maximum weight the containers can hold.
