Description
The Product Manager, Aviation Ground Support Equipment (PM AGSE) seeks to identify potential sources for the Armys requirements for a GENERIC AIRCRAFT NITROGEN GENERATOR (GANG). The GANG will be driven by a fully automated JP-8 fueled diesel engine that shall be designed with an oil free compressor that will provide gaseous nitrogen at a minimum purity level of 95.5% and up at production rates of 4000 psi to 5000 psi in support of flight line and Army Aviation maintenance shop operations. The GAN G shall consist of a self contained, enclosed, four wheel, tow able, diesel engine, trailer mounted cart that produces high purity nitrogen using air separation membrane technology. The GANG shall withstand the stress, strain, shock, and vibration incide nt to military operations, shipment, towing, and lifting. The GANG shall be capable of transport by the units organic equipment. The GANG shall be designed for a life expectancy of 20,000 hours over a service life of 20 years. The GANG shall not excee d a gross operational weight of 4000 lbs. The weight limit includes all components associated with the GANG unit including, but not limited to fuel, coolants, oils and all fluids at full levels. The GANG shall not exceed 90 inches in length (with tow bar up/stowed), 72 inches in width, and 63 inches in height when prepared for transportation. The GANG shall separate nitrogen from other gases, particles and impurities using a nitrogen membrane module technology or similar technology with a production rate from 10 SCFM to 15 SCFM depending upon purity level. The operating temperature range of the GANG shall be -25?F to 140?F at sea level. The GANG shall be able to operate in a humid environment of a minimum of 30% relative humidity (RH) at a temperature not to exceed 125?F. The GANG shall operate from -25?F to 140?F at altitudes up to and including 7000 feet above sea level. The GANG shall be capable of startup without the aid of auxiliary equipment at ambient temperatures down to -25?F and up to 140 ?F. The GANG shall be equipped with additional auxiliary equipment including but not limited to a membrane heating system to operate at ambient temperatures of -0?F to -25?F.
