Description
Statement of Work Fabricate Steel Gates, Catwalk Supports & Construct and Install Catwalk Railing. Modify Existing Push Gate and Sorting Tub South Unit Wildlife Handling Facility Theodore Roosevelt National Park PMIS #77491 This project is located at the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, 32 miles West of Dickinson, North Dakota. Delivery and work site will be at the Wildlife Handling Facility Site North two miles off the Fryburg Exit #36 from Interstate 94. Steel Gates: 6 each Steel Gates (Approximate size 145"w X 7' h) 1 each Steel Gate (Approximate size 69"w X 64"h) 1 each Steel Gate (Approximate size 75"w X 7'h) *Field Verify All Gate Sizes As Required* " For each gate provide two complete sets of hinges, one latch, one striker plate assembly, and one sliding lock bar and lock strike plate. All gate hinges will be fitted with grease fittings. All gate tubing will have one 3/16" weep hole drilled in each end for drainage. " Gates must provide mounting clips per drawing GA2 for installation of rough sawn planking. Mounting clips will accommodate rough sawn 2" x 8" boards instead of the drawing indicated 1" x 8"s . NPS will provide and install wood components. " Gates will be painted with one coat of universal primer followed by two coats of Sherwin Williams Bolt Brown (SW4001) or equivalent. " See included gate plan for details of construction. " The National Park Service will install new gates and related appurtenances. Total Gates Needed = 8 each Catwalk Support Brackets Approximate size = 6"w X 10"h mounting plate with 30" extension length to accommodate three walkway planks. Each fixture has approximately 24 ea 7/16" mounting holes pre-drilled. Must be mountable to round or flat posts. (NPS has existing template for the contractor to use) " The National Park Service will install new supports and the plank walkway. Total Support Brackets Needed = 150 each Catwalk Railing " Railing to match existing steel material. 1 1/2" OD pipe with a minimum of 1/8" wall thickness. Supports stemming from installed catwalk will be placed every 6'. " Contractor is responsible to install new on-site hand railings. Process will require coordination with NPS staff installing cat walk components. Total Catwalk Railing Length - 1500LF Push Gate Catwalk Extension (Round Pen) " 6'lf with two steel access steps. Walkway material is galvanized foot grating to match existing. Contractor will fabricate new walkway extension to work from existing walkway, fabricate two 24" wide steps, 36"h handrail and mount in place. Crowding Pen Modifications " Modify existing Linn Brand sorting tub to remove notched section and replace with straight, flat metal wall to match structures material and related strength requirements. Replaced section utilizes one 24" access gate which must be incorporated into new configuration. Section measures approximately 8' x 8'. The contractor shall exercise all care and concern during the process, to avoid any undue damage or change to the structures. All on-site welding will be done in a safe manner to avoid structural or prairie fires. All welding remnants and garbage shall be cleaned up daily & prior to final inspection of the work. Restroom facilities are available at the corral facility. Potable water & phone service is not available. 110 volt electricity is available for contractor's use as approved by Contracting Officer. Submittals required: None unless components differ from provided plans and existing physical templates available at the park. A contractor's site visit prior to bid submission is necessary and must be scheduled two days in advance. On-site inspections can be scheduled by contacting Chief of Maintenance Lynn Heiser @ 701-623-4730 ext. 3413 Award of this project will be in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (Public Law 100-656). This project is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act. The magnitude of this project is less than $25,000. NAICS: 238190, P&S: Z299. Bid package will be available O/A 02/14/07 and will close 03/07/07 at 02:00 pm MST., unless extensions are issued in an amendment. NO PAPER COPIES WILL BE MAILED.
