- Description
- The Library of Congress, National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS/BPH) requires disposal of government surplus, obsolete, and damaged record and cassette players. These types of playback equipment were used by blind and physically handicapped patrons to listen to recorded books on both flexible and rigid records cassete tapes. An estimate minimum of 200 per month to an estimated of 25,000 per year of electronic playback equipment, component, and packaging material of solid waste; and an estimated minimun of 200 per month to an estimated maximun of 20,000 per year of parts removal service under the base year. An additional estimated maximum of 50,000 electronic playback equipment, component, and packaging material may need disposal service, and an estimated 40,000 parts removal under the two years of the service contract. The contractor shall be required to remove and properly dispose of any hazardous lead material as governed under the Federal EPA Requlations. Updated response date: March 2, 2007
