- Description
- The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Alliant Techsystems, Inc., Lewiston, ID a modification to the existing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract allowing the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) the ability to order from the contract. The estimated maximum capacity for the Speer Gold Dot Caliber .40 Smith & Wesson (S&W) 165 grain Gold Dot Hollow Point (GDHP) cartridge (Part No. 53947) and associated training rounds will be increased by 5,100 cases for the base period only (until October 19, 2007). FBI and DEA will also be authorized to order shotgun ammunition through the contract, but only after satisfying the FAR Part 13 competition requirements. The maximum capacity for shotgun ammunition will be increased by 800 cases per year for each the base year and the first option year. As of this date, the FBI's and DEA's standardized duty ammunition is caliber .40 S&W Speer Dot Hollow Point (GDHP) Cartridge, Part #53947. The required round is only available from Alliant Techsystems, Inc. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 Circumstances permitting other than full and open competition. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement on a full and open competitive basis upon receipt of responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Requests, to be considered, must include a full capability statement and must be received no later than Monday, February 12, 2007 at 12 pm PST. **Questions must be emailed to Marc Feinberg at Marc.Feinberg@irs.gov or Kathleen Spinetti at Kathleen.M.Spinetti@irs.gov not later than Monday, February 12, 2007 at 12 pm PST. Questions received by fax or telephone will not be accepted or acknowledged. The Government anticipates an award date on or about Friday, February 23, 2007.
