- Description
- The National Library of Medicine (NLM) intends to procure professional IT services on a sole source basis from Robert P. Klein under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 6.302-1. Dr. Klein has an in-depth knowledge of VPS at NIH, including the complex problems that can occur between the critical NIH administrative application and the VPS printing facility. Additionally, he has detailed knowledge of Connect:Direct as it is used at NIH. This includes the use of several Connect:Direct options that are rarely used elsewhere, but are required for applications hosted at NIH. In addition to his knowledge of VPS and Connect:Direct, Dr. Klein is very knowledgeable of the ACF and PMS applications hosted at CIT. These two HHS applications use the data center?s UNIX hosting environment as well as a myriad of connectivity products. Dr. Klein is uniquely qualified to meet the requirements of the tasks that must be performed under this contract. His technical expertise and specific experience can not be found elsewhere. This synopsis is being posted in accordance with the rules and regulations stated under FAR Part 12- Acquisition of Commercial Items.
