- The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for Hotel Accommodations and Hotel services located in the geographic area of Baltimore, MD. The Department of Veterans Affairs is a federal agency and therefore exempt from any taxes. The tax exemption document will be provided upon award of the contract. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefit Administration, Office of Employee Development and Training will be participating in the Introduction to Leadership Course. The breakdown for hotel accommodations are estimated as follows; Sunday 3/11 (28); Monday 3/12 (30); Tuesday 3/13 (28); Wednesday 3/14 (28); Thursday 3/15 (32); Friday 3/16 (26); Saturday 3/17 (26); Sunday 3/18 (31); Monday 3/19 (31); Tuesday 3/20 (31); Wednesday 3/21 (30); Thursday 3/22 (29); Friday 3/23 check out. Based on the breakdown described, the total rooms requested are 350 each. PAYMENTS FOR ROOMS SHALL BE VIA PURCHASE ORDER. The following are the requirements for this solicitation; all rooms must be individual /private sleeping rooms with toilet facilities smoke free and at government per diem rate or lower for Baltimore, MD. ALL offerors submitting quotes for this requirement must include Duns and Bradstreet Number and indicate whether or not their agency is registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). All, the offerors must include the RFQ number on their quote; otherwise your quote will be considered unresponsive. The website for CCR is www.ccr.gov. Also, the offeror must be in compliance with the American Disability Act (ADA). Additional hotel requirements are No penalty for rooms not used; Hotel must have availability to lodge all participants in one hotel; Hotel must have 4 Star or 4 Diamond rating; Hotel must be within 6 blocks of the training site; Provide shuttle service between hotel and training site (Veterans Benefits Academy 31 Hopkins Plaza); Provide microwaves and refrigerators in room at no additional cost; Provide private meeting space, nightly, to accommodate 26-30 for networking and homework; Provide Banquet facility, with podium and microphone, and capability to provide on-site banquet meal for 40 people on Thursday, March 22, 2007 from 6-9 pm at the government per diem rate of $29 per person; On site fitness center; and provide high-speed internet access, 24x7, in each sleeping room. The specific instructions contained herein are intended to serve as a guideline for the preparation of the quotation. In developing the quotation, the Offeror shall comply with the requirements stated in this solicitation by answering yes or no to each requirement as listed above. THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO AWARD WITHOUT DISCUSSIONS. Therefore, each offeror is urged to examine this request for quote in its entirety and to ensure that their quote contains all necessary information, provides all required documentation, and is complete in all aspects. The Offeror shall certify that all files and electronic media have been checked for and are free of viruses. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
