THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS, AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ATTENDANCE IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS SOLELY TO ADVISE POTENTIALLY QUALIFIED SOURCES WHO PROVIDE DISASTER PREPAREDNESS SERVICES AND/OR EQUIPMENT IN THE CARRIBEAN BASIN AND/OR CENTRAL AMERICA OF A FORUM FOR TH EIR SERVICES AND/OR EQUIPMENT. THIS REQUEST IS NOT FOR COST INFORMATION AND IS NOT INDICATIVE OF ANY FUTURE US ARMY REQUIREMENT. Contracting Office Address 2450 Stanley Road Ste 320, Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234. Description The announcement is in conjunction with the Fuerzas Aliadas Humanitarias 07 (FAHUM 07) Tactical Deployment Exercise to be held at the Mariott Hotel in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Central America. FAHUM 07 is a multinational seminar held by the United State s Army South (USARSO) in which military and civilian representatives from approximately 24 countries and the United States gather to promote regional collaboration between the military, governmental and nongovernmental agencies within the Caribbean Basin a nd Central America. The exercise focuses on possible scenario resolution as well as roundtable discussions and briefings concerning disaster relief and possible mitigation issues. Representatives of approximately 24 nations in the Caribbean Basin and Cen tral America are expected to attend the seminar. Accordingly, anyone with disaster relief related products may attend, space permitting, a hotel sponsored Trade Show. Since the Trade Show is NOT sponsored by the US Government, information may be obtained from the hotel staff at 011 502 2410 1777, Fax 01 1 502 2332 1877. The hotel limits booth size to 10 by 10 per vendor, and the hotel offers only a maximum of 40 booths. Space is on a first come, first served basis. Product suggestions include, but are not limited to: Emergency Equipment, Emergency Warning Systems, Environmental Hazard Controls, Rescue Tools, Emergency Medical Equipment, Disaster Relief and Assistance, Flood Lights and Search Lights, Emergency Aid Equipment, Protective Clothing, Search and Rescue Operations Equipment, Communications Equipment Public Information Equipment, Emergency Planning Services and Software. The Trade Show will be held at the Mariott Hotel in Guatemala City, Guatemala on May 7 to 11, 2007. Any cost for attendance including reservations, reservation and any related fees, shall be borne solely by the vendor interested in attending the Trade Sho w . The Government of the United States is not responsible for any fee associated with this event . Any registration fees are determined by and payable directly to the hotel. This synopsis is for notice purposes only, and is not to be construed as a com mitment or intent to make any purchases by the Government. Due Date The Mariott Hotel in Guatemala City, Guatemala , advises that the hotel should receive Notices of Interest on or before April 18, 2007 at 17:00:00 MST. Other Information Interested parties should respond by contacting the hotel directly, providing a Notice of Interest in writing to the hotel in order to procure a space. Notices of Interest must be faxed directly to the hotel at 011 502 2332 1877. Vendors may wish to inc lude the following in the Notice of Intent: 1) Company name, address, point of contact, telephone number, email address. 2) Type of business if applicable (i.e.; small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned, large,etc.) 3) Company size (in number of employees and gross annual sales,) 4) Type of product/service provided, including applicable NAICS and FSC codes. This may include a description of the product/service you can provide and how it relates to Disaster Preparedness in th e regions described above. Please do NOT submit classified information, as none is requested. Please do NOT request a copy of a solicitation related to this announcement, as none exists.
