Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a solicitation to acquire services to support high quality HIV care and treatment activities in Eastern Province in the United Republic of Kenya under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. The primary purpose of this requirement is to support implementation/expansion of HIV care and treatment programs (including basic health care, ART, and TB/HIV) in 3 districts (Machakos, Makueni, and Mwingi) in the southern part of Eastern Province, Kenya. A secondary purpose is to develop systems for quality assurance of these programs and share experience and lessons learned with the national coordinating body (National AIDS and STD Control Program [NASCOP]) within the Kenya Ministry of Health. This procurement is considered full and open competition and the CDC intends to award a single Cost Plus Fixed-Fee ID/IQ contract. The contract period of performance will be for five years that shall include a base period and four (4) option periods of one (1) year each. The North American Industry Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 923120. Request for Proposal 2007-N-09217 will be posted online at www.fedbizopps.gov after the closing date of this synopsis.
