Description
The Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Flight Safety Branch and Aircraft Safety Division at the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) has a requirement to procure technical support for research and development activities in seven technical area described in the Statement of Work (SOW). The branch provides strategic solutions that support improvements in regulatory operations for aviation safety inspectors and certification engineers. Working cooperatively with other government entities, industry, and academia, the branch performs research and develops tools to provide aviation safety inspectors, aircraft certification engineers, analysts, and managers the capabilities of systematically assessing potential safety risks and applying proactive solutions to reduce aviation accidents and incident. In essence, the branch is a partner in ensuring that the right information and technology are in place to improve safety of the current aviation operations as well as support the future transport demands on the regulatory environment. The contractor shall be responsible for the provisions of the entire scope of each task area. The period of performance is a base year, with four (4) one year options. The Screening Information Request (SIR) document and the SOW are attached. The SIR is attached to this announcement. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 541710 with a size standard of 1500 employees. The FAA intends to award an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity labor hour contract.
