- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a service contract for the timely acquisition and testing for infectious disease of freshly drawn human blood, blood products, saliva, and urine for reference diagnostics and research use. The contractor shall be required to assure donor confidentiality and shall make available adequate counseling, in the event that any donor specimens test positive for specific transmittable infections. The contractor must develop or have access to a numerically adequate pool of apparently healthy donors to meet the CDC’s needs. The contractor shall furnish all personnel, supplies, and equipment to meet the CDC’s needs for fresh whole blood and apheresis products from apparently healthy donors by providing daily, early morning (collections to be completed by 8:00am each morning), on-site drawing of small volumes of blood (less than 200mls) at CDC campuses at 1600 Clifton Rd, Atlanta, Ga 30333 and 4770 Buford Hwy, Atlanta, Ga. 30341. The contractor will provide an off-site facility under the direct supervision of a GA licensed medical physician for collection of all blood volumes greater than 201 mls and apheresis products. This is a full and open competitive procurement action. The NAICS code for this procurement is 621991. A firm fixed price contract in accordance with FAR part 15 is contemplated. There will be a base period of performance of twelve (12) months and four 12-month option periods. CDC will consider all responsible sources responding to this Request for Proposal (RFP). RFP 2006-N-08472 will be available on or around May 23, 2006. The due date for receipt of proposals will be approx. 30 days after posting of the RFP. All questions/concerns about the RFP shall be submitted via email to cstrong1@cdc.gov. The complete solicitation package will be available and posted on the fedbizopps website for downloading when issued. No telephone requests of the solicitation will be accepted.
