Description
The scope for this project is the replacement (including all demolition, construction and equipment installation) of existing Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System (MALS) with new GFM system/equipment serving runway 03 at San Antonio International Airport, TX. Much of the project work activity will be within the runway safety area (RSA) and thus will be subject to typical airport operational restrictions and requirements. Associated work shall include demolition and removal of existing MALS light stations, equipment and storage shed, installation of new light stations (including foundations, supports, lamps/wiring/aiming, and maintenance plots) and adding threshold bar and relocating existing airport threshold lights, new underground power circuits in PVC duct with handholes, install new GFM equipment shelter (including foundation, incoming power & light station circuit entry & hook-up, and aggregate plot with parking area), electrical service preparation including required trenching for power co. to shelter plot, installation of transformer pad & meter/disc. switch equip. rack adjacent to shelter, and rerouting of existing rwy 03 PAPI power (in vicinity of MALS) to/thru new MALS shelter/plot, new aggregate access road along light lane and to shelter/plot, all related grounding & lightning protection, all required electrical testing and complete, local system operational check-out and final site restoration and clean-up. Estimated Price Range: Between $250,000 - $600,000 Performance Time: 90 Calendar Days NAIC: 237990 This opportunity is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE project. This Notice is for information purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
