Description

The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302 and 603-1 (a)(2)(ii) to Geodetics, San Diego, CA for the design and production of 25 each, Real-Time Enhanced Network Global Position ing Systems (GPS). The Government had previously purchased similar units under purchase order W911SG-06-0184. Geodetics is the sole developer and the proprietor of the technical and software data of the Government-owned units. The units being acquired mu st be 100% compatible. In addition, To meet mission requirements, the GPS must be able to provide a complete collection, data manipulation, data display and data recording of sub-meter accuracy Time, Space and Position Information (TSPI) test data. Addi tionally, the system acquired under the proposed contract must be able to acquire and record sub-meter accuracy TSPI in order to evaluate the functions and effectiveness of the Future Combat Systems sensors and weapons; must have selectable reporting and r ecording rates from 1 sample every 10 seconds up to and including five samples per second in order to be used on different platforms of Future Combat Systems (FCS) and must be able to record the type of TSPI data with synchronized GPS time for extended per iods. The NAICS code is 334220 with size standard of 750. The proposed contract action is for end items for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify the ir interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information re ceived will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All respondents must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), and have a valid DUNS number, Cage Code, and Tax Identi fication Number.
