Description
Item: Fully Autonomous Unmanned Helicopter Description: Our group would like to purchase a pair of fully autonomous unmanned helicopters to be used in remote sensing and spraying operations. We envision the first helicopter to be a smaller system capable of carrying a camera aloft and transmitting this image back to a ground station. The second helicopter will be fitted with a spray system designed by Unit personnel. Specifications for both helicopters: ? Capable of truly autonomous flight with minimal user inputs at takeoff and landing; ? Capable of flying waypoints that have been input into the helicopter?s computer before takeoff; ? Preferably, waypoint entry can be made using geo-rectified aerial photos; ? Ability to return to takeoff point or other designated point if communications are lost or after completing a prescribed mission; ? Built in relay switch that can be triggered on and off based on GPS coordinates or user inputs; ? Flight control software for each system must be the same; ? Training for flight control software included in price; ? Ability to manually override computer control with a hand-held transmitter (controller); ? A minimum of 1 year warranty for each system; ? Software and technical support for at least 1 year; ? Delivery of both systems to our facilities in College Station, TX within 4 months of being awarded the contract. Specifications for helicopter with camera: ? Flight time of at least 20 minutes; ? Video camera should be forward mounted; ? Video camera resolution of at least 640X480; ? Video images should be transmitted at least 0.5 km line of sight; ? Minimum useable payload of 3 kg not including the camera; ? Battery power is preferred; Specifications for helicopter that will be fitted with a spray system: ? Flight time of at least 75 minutes; ? Minimum useable payload of 20 kg; ? Available onboard power of at least 100 watts; ? 12 volt power system; ? Minimum ground speed of at 40 km/hr; ? Telemetry system should be at least 1 km line of sight; ? Controls and motor should be enclosed within a canopy; ? Gasoline or diesel powered motor is preferred.
