- Description
- The U. S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, intends to procure construction services for the Installation of Two New Cooling Towers and Modifying the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Direct Digital Control (DDC) System at the National Marine Fisheries Service Laboratory at Galveston, Texas. The Contractor shall be required to furnish all labor, material, equipment and each and every item of expense for the installation. The base bid is for the installation of the cooling towers. This work consists of installing two 150 ton stainless steel cooling towers with Variable Frequency Drive (VFDs), one to replace the existing cooling tower and one to be added and used as a redundant unit. Structural steel and concrete will be required to support the second tower. The towers will be controlled by new Direct Digital Control (DDC) devices that will be incorporated into the existing Building Management System (BMS). The two bid additives are for (1) the installation of an HVAC Control system for the Galveston Campus and (2) the modification of the HVAC system for Building 302. The project will include revisions to the existing HVAC system in Building 302 to control outside air systems with the associated control work required to manage these revisions as per plans and specifications. The period of performance shall be 120 calendar days from the date of the notice to proceed. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. This is a total small-business set aside. NAICS code 236220 applies. Estimated construction cost is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. Solicitation Number WC133F-07-RB-0013MLW with specifications and bid documents will be available on or about March 5, 2007. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. The Central Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisitions Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR.
