- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute Diabetes & Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), proposes to procure a DNA extraction system that automates DNA isolation from mouse tail samples. The Diabetes Branch relies heavily on research using genetically engineered mouse models. These studies will need organized mouse colony management to effectively utilize allocated mouse space. The requirements necessary are (1) Capable of processing, unattended, up to 48 samples in 2 hours (2) Have the capability to expand to 192 samples. (3) Fully automated for the isolation of DNA from Plant material (4) Animal tissue and BAC/plasmid preps and (5) Ability to process 0.5-3.0ml cultures; dependant on individual application acid. The extraction system must have a minimum warranty period of two (2) year, which covers the cost of repair and/or replacement, including labor or any defect in workmanship or parts. This not set aside for small business. Award based on best value. All responsible vendors that are capable of providing the Government with the items that are listed above may request a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to 301-480-4226 to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that RFQ NIH-NIDDK -07-185 will be available (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due seven (7) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is 03/08/2007. Quotations must be submitted in writing to The National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 774C, Bethesda, MD 20817, Attention: Tina Robinson. FAX quotations must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative. All requests for quotations must have valid email address.
