Description

1. Amendment 0001 is hereby incorporated into Request for Quote (RFQ) number W912JF-07-T-0004 and shall become a part of any resultant contract. 2. Extend the response due date from 10:00 A.M. CDT 5 March 2007 to 10:00 A.M. CDT 7 March 2007. 3. The following is a response to contractors submitted questions: Question: Is there any details on the cutout for programming of cuts is a plasma cut acceptable? Answer: Does not matter how the material is cut as long as it is smoothed to ease installation and to prevent injury to personnel installing the units. Question: We have another concern with this solicitation after discussion with the engineers and fabrication group. Abrasion resistant AR500 plate in 1/4 inch is does not lend itself to being bent for the tab required for the front plate configuration on Line Item 0001. This will lead to fracture and breaking problems as this plate is too brittle for this operation. We felt that this was something that needed to be brought up and we have made the switch to a welded on tab to serve the same purpose. Plea se confirm if this is acceptable. Answer: Does not matter how it is done as long as it allows for the sections to be easily and securely connected. Question: We need a little clarification on Item number 0001: Where it states two tapered sides at 48 inches high, is this referring to the length of the sides of the front plate or something else? Answer: It will be 33in high when erected. After consideration of the 22deg angle then the plate itself will have a height of approximately 48in. 3. Further clarification on Line 0002 and 0003. The provided diagrams provided for Lines 0002 and 0003 are correct. However, supports will need to be approximately 2 inches from the outside edge to allow overlap.
