- Description
- 1. Amendment 0002 is hereby incorporated into Request for Proposal (RFP) number SP3100-07-R-0008 and shall become a part of any resultant contract. 2. The following is a response to contractor submitted questions: Question: One of the answers given in regards to the rubbing strips stipulates to make holes on the skid sides for fork truck access. It goes on to stipulate that the holes are off center "because the weight is off center ? refer to drawing". The drawing in MIL-C-3774B stipulates where to place the fork lift openings based on the Center Point of the ?BALANCE?. Need to know where the center point will be located on these skids based on the unit being loaded onto the skids in order to properly place the fork lift openings. Or, should the fork openings be placed based on the Balance Center for the Crate Only? Answer: The drawing that has been supplied as an attachment provides the necessary measurements to put the fork openings where they need to be. Question: The question was raised about the MAX load for these crates and the response was: "Use Type I Classification, per MIL-C-3774B" ? The original solicitation stipulated that these crates were to be of Type II. Are these crates to be TYPE II in design with the weight limitations based on TYPE I or is this a complete change from the original solicitation to make these crates completely adhere to TYPE I design? Answer: Use the Type II in design but with the weight limitation of 10,000#s. Question: Are there any specific locations that this unit, being shipped on the skids, needs to have the "Load Bearing Floorboards" located? Is there a preferred size of the "Load Bearing Floorboards" in regards to height & width, and how many "Load Bearing Floorboards" would be more than adequate in order to ensure safe shipment? Answer: Refer to the hand drawn picture and Figure 2 in the MIL-DTL-55507F(CR) for placement of the Load Bearing Floorboards). Refer to the MIL specs as to the correct size to use. 3. The closing date for submission of offers will remain as February 20, 2007 at 3:30 PM. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (15-FEB-2007); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
