Description
The FAA is seeking Sarnafil approved roofers for the re-roofing of the Automation Wing and UPS/Battery Room roofs and the resealing of the Power System Building (Rooms 110 and 201) and Storage Building roofs at the Chicago ARTCC at Aurora, Illinois. Work consists of the following: 1. Re-roofing of the Automation Wing roof (nominal dimension: 160' x 76' - Drawings: GL-D-1207-A08, -A09 and -A10) including: removal of the existing roofing membrane with underlying asbestos containing built-up roofing and insulation, installation of an 80 mil, mechanically-attached roofing membrane with insulation, flashings, counter flashings, parapet PVC metal wall with cap, sealants, adhesives and other components; replacement of all the electrical conduits, associated cables, clamps etc.; replacement of the walkway pads; and reinstallation of the lightning grounding system. 2. Re-roofing of the Battery Room (101) and UPS Room (102) of the Power Service Building (nominal dimension: 68' x 60' - Reference Drawing: GL-D-2019-A15) including: removal of the existing roofing membrane and insulation, and installation of an 80 mil, mechanically-attached roofing membrane with insulation, flashings, counter flashings, sealants, adhesives and other components; and replacement of the roof walkway pads. Perform re-roofing similar to Automation Wing work. 3. Resealing of the Generator Room (110 - Low Roof) and Mechanical Room (201 - High Roof) of the Power Service Building (nominal dimensions: 32' x 65' and 36' x 92' - Reference Drawings: GL-D-2019-A01 and -A04), including cleaning of existing single-ply membrane roof surface. Resealing of the Storage Building roof (nominal dimension: 44' x 32' - Reference Drawing: DR.3-E-6219), including cleaning of existing built-up roof surface. 4. Other work as required on the project drawings and in the specifications. Offer range is between $250,000 and $500,000 with a performance time of approximately 100 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for spring 2007. Interested firms should a letter of interest to the above named Contracting Officer along with the following documentation: 1.) Sarnafil certification and 2.) Sarnafil roof projects performed over the last 5 year period. Submit this letter via email to melody.mcgovern@faa.gov or fax to 847/294-7801. The Request For Offer is anticipated to be available by March 2007. FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
