Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to issue a sole source procurement to Duquesne Light Company, 2601 Preble Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This procurement is to provide and install a dual feed including two new 7500 kva transformers with fans, duct bank and feeders to increase the electrical service from Duquesne Light to the University Drive Division of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. It is the belief of the Government that there is currently only one responsible source capable of providing this equipment and service to satisfy the agency requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification, accompanied by supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements, to the contracting officer within ten (10) days from the date of publication of this synopsis. All responses must be in writing via e-mail to Cheryl.Weidner@med.va.gov or faxed to 412-365-5451. If no responses are received, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System will proceed with the sole source procurement from Duquesne Light Company.
