- The Aircrew Systems Office PMA 202 is interested in aiding potential vendors for the Helicopter Egress System for Passengers (HESP) Flotation Assembly procurement by providing access to the newly procured Marine Corps Modular Tactical Vest (MTV). It is a requirement of the Flotation Assembly solicitation (N00019-06-R-0093) that the offerors? flotation device fit properly with both the current Outer Tactical Vest (OTV) as well as the new MTV. Access to the MTV is intended to provide vendors who intend to participate in the HESP solicitation an opportunity to ensure their product samples properly fit with the newly introduced design. Because the MTV has been recently introduced to the Marines, potential vendors may not have yet had an opportunity to become familiar with the design and appearance of the MTV. In support of this requirement NAVAIR will provide availability to the vests for a one week period beginning March 6th through March 8th and March 12 ? March 15th. . Interested vendors may schedule appointments for two hour time slots during that week as follows: 0800-1000; 1030-1230; or 1330-1530. Vendors should provide a first, second and third choice of dates and times when submitting their requests; every effort will be made to attempt to provide the vendors with either their first or second choices, but all requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Pictures will be provided, cameras are not allowed. Vendors are allowed a maximum of 5 people. Visits will be conducted in a secure space in Bldg 2187 at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Government personnel and/or a Government support contractor will be present during the visit. Vendors will be allowed to try on the vests with their products if desired but the configuration will not be altered. The sample vests are an x-small MTV and a large OTV. Other sizes may become available.. Interested parties need to contact Mr. David Borne via email: david.borne1@navy.mil with a copy to Tara Capecci, email tara.capecci@navy.mil to schedule attendance. Security clearance data must be provided to Tara Capecci, via FAX at (301) 342-9305, by noon of 5 March 2007, to allow for processing time for base access. Your request must include a point of contact and a telephone number. Failure to provide the necessary security request information within the above timeline will result in attendance cancellation.
