- The U.S. Coast Guard has decided not to set aside the acquisition for drydock repair of USCG 64 FOOT AIDS TO NAVIGATION BOAT CORPUS CHRISTI (643502) for HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Small Business concerns. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about 28 February 2007 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. This requirement is an unrestricted procurement (large and small businesses may submit) for commercial items and will be evaluated using past performance as an evaluation factor. All work will be performed at the Contractor?s facility. The place of performance for this vessel is restricted to a facility on navigable waterways within 192 nautical miles of Corpus Christi, TX. It is restricted to inland transit only; any off-shore transit or over land transit is prohibited. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to USCG 64 Foot Aids To Navigation Boat, Corpus Christi (643502) including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2)Clean and Inspect Fuel Oil Tank (including disposal), (3) Clean and disinfect Potable Water Tank(s), (4) Clean and Inspect Ballast Tanks, (5) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft, (6) Straighten Shaft, (7) Renew Water-Lubricated shaft Bearings, (8) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers, (9) Perform Minor Repair and Reconditioning of Propeller, (10) Clean, inspect, and Test Grid Coolers, (11) Inspect Exhaust Mufflers, (12) Clean and Inspect Main Engine and Ship service Generator Uptakes, (13) Align Main Propulsion Engine, (14) Renew Valves, (15) Grey water Piping Replacement, (16) Inspect Steering System, (17) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, (18) Overhaul Chain Stoppers, (19) Inspect Various Deck Fittings, (20) Preserve Spud and Spud Well Surfaces, (21) Preserve Ballast Tanks and Voids, (22) Preserve Weather Decks, (23) Preserve Buoy Deck, (24) Preserve Underwater Body, (25) Preserve Freeboard, (26) Routine Drydocking, (27) Provide Temporary Logistics, (28) Composite Labor, and (11) Laydays. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The USCG 64 Foot Aids to Navigation Boat Corpus Christi (Hull Number 643502) is homeported in Corpus Christi, TX. All work will be performed at the contractors facility which must be within the geographical restriction of the vessel as outline above. The performance period is FORTY-NINE (49) calendar days beginning on or about May 1, 2007. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
