- Description
- The Marine Corps has a current operational requirement to modernize range instrumentation and simulation to increase live fire/Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED) training capability and effectiveness by using 3-Dimensional immersive video technology. This 3-D immersive video must have the capability for capturing real-time video and audio recording of multiple training events so as to provide a comprehensive 3-Dimensional situational awareness view of the on-going training activities, selectable from any location within a 3-D modeled MOUT facility. The system shall be capable of recording and storing over two hundred separate video and audio feeds simultaneously. Rapid retrieval of the recorded/stored video and audio clips shall be synchronized and used with production software tools in order to facilitate the generation of MOUT training after action reviews (AAR) debriefing materials. The system shall be capable of automated 3-dimensinal video capture, artificial intelligence cameras control, and video processing algorithms which provides immediate after action reviews. The system shall consist of the minimum following capabilities: 1. Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) camera video feed overlaid dynamically over a topographical 3D model rendered map of the MOUT sites and surrounding training areas, providing an immersive stitched panoramic view of the training site to include both exterior and interior building of the training complex. Cameras angle views showing areas of interest shall be stitched so as to provide a smooth transition from one camera to the next as training progresses and moves throughout the MOUT sites and surrounding training areas. 2. System to supports both day and night time training exercise and supports both indoor and outdoor urban warfare tactics and procedures. 3. Artificial intelligence and manual user PTZ cameras control modes by selection of the training area of interest and by selection of individual and group of cameras. Automatic camera tracking shall be by selection of individual or vehicle as they maneuver through out the training site. Nearest PTZ camera, as well as adjacent PTZ cameras, shall automatically be positioned and viewed to the selected area of interest and selected trainee as they transition from one location to another within the training compound. 4. Incorporation of indoor camera systems for rapid relocation to other temporary high interest-training value locations within the MOUT training complex... Video feeds shall be remotely transmitted back to the operator console for use in situational awareness views and capable of recording video for immediate and delayed AAR production. 5. AAR debriefing material including video and audio/comms clips, shall be recorded on CD, DVD, or flash drive media within 15 minutes after the completion of the training exercise in order to provide Marines a quick turnaround debriefing package on standard PC workstations , laptops, PDA, or any other electronic computer like device at any arbitrary location within the MOUT complex. 6. Video Capture system must be able to record a minimum of 120 hours of video (30 frames per second) and audio. Recorded video and audio shall be readily accessible for immediate after action review playback (e.g., TIVO-like capability) while still in the recording mode. 7. Capable to record and playback audio w/ video from the training area, allowing user to manually select audio of interest independent of main video feed focus area.
