- Description: The US Army Office of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems (OPMCCS) is currently seeking qualified sources to complete a requirement to produce a blunt trauma hand grenade. The hand grenade must be a non-lethal explosive device with an effective radius of three meters (threshold), five meters (objective) from the point of detonation. Items shall not contain any perchlorates. The detonation delay of the grenade (time between release of safety lever and detonation) must be 2.6 +/- 0.5 seconds. The packaged and unpackaged grenade must be transportable in wheeled/tracked vehicles over a variety of terrain road, trail, cross-country, in helicopters, cargo aircraft, and ships. The user of the grenade must be capable of restoring the grenade to its normal safe carrying configuration after removing the safety device. It must have an economically compatible re-loadable device for training in multiple environments. The re-loadable device shall replicate the grenade's fuze timing/delay sequence. The quantities will range from 1000 to 50000, per year. Interested companies which believe they can meet the above requirements shall provide the US Army a brief summary of their company's capabilities. Company Size (please specify as either Large, Foreign, Small, Small Disadvan- taged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone concern, Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business.) Identify current major manufacturing processes, critical skills and equipment, current production capabilities (should include your maximum production rate attainable and minimum sustaining rate). Identify your organization's Facilities, Equipment, Unique Capabilities, Environmental Concerns, Storage, Shipping, Receiving and other Support Functions.
