Description
The Billings Area Indian Health Service (IHS) is requesting proposals in accordance with the requirements of Request for Proposal (RFP)-244-07-0004-REL for Obstetrical Services at the Fort Peck Service Unit. The obstetrical services shall include prenatal clinics at the Indian Health Service Clinics in Poplar and Wolf Point, Montana three days a week, 52 weeks a year. Two prenatal clinics shall be held in Poplar and one prenatal clinic in Wolf Point each week. Clinics will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The contractor will provide an OB Clinic for high risk prenatal patients once a month in Poplar and Wolf Point. The high risk OB clinic must be staffed by a medical physician appropriately trained in managing high risk pregnancies. The services must include the medical (prenatal) care as well as nursing support staff to assist the medical provider. The services will include physical examinations, diagnostic and treatment recommendations, patient education, consultation, and follow-up for patients. Documentation of the services shall be accomplished utilizing the IHS electronic health record and IHS standard forms only. The Contractor shall consult with the Fort Peck Service Unit Chief Medical Officer prior to prescribing any medication, diagnostic testing or services not provided directly at the Fort Peck Service Unit. The Contractor will be responsible for their own travel costs to and from the Service Units. The Contractor shall provide necessary transportation between the Poplar and/or Wolf Point clinics and the respective referral facility/facilities. The tentative issue date of the solicitation is March 19, 2007, with a closing date of April 18, 2007. The services are being solicited on an unrestricted basis. The IHS intends to award a fixed-price non-personal healthcare contract for a base year with four 12-month options.
