Description
Synopsis is being modified to restate requirement under Insurance Policy Buy with Mission Essential Quantity (MEQ) and set new solicitation issue and closing dates. *** This is for a firm fixed-price acquisition using the Insurance Policy procedures. Requirement is for Structural Brackets applicable to C-5 aircraft. NSN: 1560-00-496-0657UC; NOUN Structural Bracket; P/N: 4J41178-113E, DIM: 8.0 inches long x 14.0 inches wide x 5.0 inches deep. MATL: PH13-8MO. FUNC: bracket assembly, pivot, inboard, flap number 1; next higher assembly 4J41186-101A. QTY: Contract will include one each First Article plus an option for one to eight each Production Quantity. Under the Insurance Policy procedures, a Mission Essential Quantity of 53 each may be awarded to a qualified source. An MEQ option is possible if the unqualified source does not pass First Article testing within 18 months of contract award. Two additional outyear options are possible for quantities of one to nineteen each year. DLVY: First Article due 365 days after contract award. **NOTE: This part must be produced from class 1 castings and similar type forgings as approved (controlled) by procedures contained in the current version of MIL-STD-2175. This item is associated with complex manufacturing processes: forging, casting, extrusions, close tolerances, precision machining. The approximate solicitation issue date will be 2 March 2007 with the approximate response date of 2 April 2007. Information on drawing packages will be available when solicitation is issued. Solicitation will be available for viewing or downloading at www.fedbizopps.gov only. No telephone requests. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE ISSUED. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with AFMC FAR Supplement 5317.7590 (Insurance Policy); portions of the requirement may be restricted for award to a proven source. Numbered Note 22 applies only to the quantity identified as the mission essential quantity in the solicitation.
