Description
The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to issue a solicitation for the competitive acquisition of maintenance and relocation services for Local Area Networks (LANs), and associated equipment, located in approximately 1,700 offices nationwide. These offices include SSA Headquarters located in Baltimore, Maryland, SSA Regional and Field Offices located throughout the United States and its territories and protectorates and State Disability Determination Service offices. SSA requires maintenance services for Local Area Networks (LANs) using the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. The LAN and associated workstations consist of workstations, file servers, monitors, laser printers, switches, and routers. These system devices include Network Interface Cards, modems, additional memory, printers, network support devices, and other components. The maintenance requirements consist of the following: 1) remedial on call maintenance for components including network devices, cable plant, and all other LAN devices attached or operating on the networks, to be performed on a fixed price per call basis; 2) movement of equipment covered by this contract to be performed on a fixed price per relocation basis; and 3) the performance of task orders which may include repairs and modifications to local area networks, component installation, performing network analyses, and providing advice about efficient network usage. Remedial maintenance calls have a return to service by next day, close of business. The Government anticipates approximately 160 relocations, 3,700 maintenance service calls, and over 300 task orders to be performed per year on a nationwide scale. It is anticipated that regional relocations will be in the same geographical area (within 50 miles). It is anticipated that as a result of the issuance of this solicitation, a contract will be awarded that will result with a base year and four option years. The contract will be Performance Based, Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity contract with provisions for firm-fixed price and labor-hour delivery/task orders. The contract life is for 5 years including option years. Maintenance and LAN relocation services are being procured on a fixed-price per call (FPPC) basis. Task Orders will be priced using fixed loaded hourly rates. This acquisition will be subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), regarding the acquisition of commercial items and to FAR Part 15 through FAC 05-15. The NAICS code 811212 shall apply to this solicitation. The solicitation will be available to download in electronic form at the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website.
