Description
A MARKET SURVEY is being conducted to determine if there are adequate HUBZONE, 8-A, or Small Disadvantaged Veteran-Owned Business contractors for this proposed Design/Build project which meet the specific criteria for a competitive set-aside award. The proposed contract will be to construct additional and renovation of Squadron Operations Building at Homestead ARB, Florida. The facility will include isolated spread footings, concrete slab-on-grade, steel structure, split face block exterior finish w ith metal stud backup, standing seam metal roof. Interior construction includes wood doors, gypsum board partitions, casework, toilet partitions and accessories, interior and exterior lighting, HVAC and plumbing systems, communications, electrical work, a nd sprinkler system. Part of the building will include a large Special Access Program Facility requiring design/construction compliance with the Joint Air Force-Army-Navy (JFAN) manual. This contract will also include a new munitions maintenance addition and renovation of a munition storage facility, both will be JFAN compliance. Exterior construction includes site work, utilities, and demolition work. The construction contract includes hazardous material abatement (asbestos and lead paint). This projec t is planned for advertising in July 2007, with award scheduled in September 2007. Contract duration is 440 days. NAICS Code is 236220. The estimated cost range is between $3,000,000 and $5,000,000. (20% of the work to be self-performed). All intereste d HUBZONE, 8-A, or Small Disadvantaged Veteran-Owned contractors should notify this office in writing by mail by March 29, 2007, 4:30 PM Louisville local time. Responses should include: (1) identification of the company as either a HUBZONE contractor, and 8-A Contractor, or a Small Disadvantaged Veteran-Owned Business, (2) Past Experience  describe completed projects that are similar in size and scope to the proposed project, the percentage of self-performed work, how that was accomplished and the perform ance rating for the work, (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for the project in the dollar range listed above, (4) a statement verifying the contractor will self-perform 20% of the work and how it will be accomplished. NOTE: If qua lified/certified HUBZONE, 8-A, or Small Disadvantaged Veteran-Owned Businesses do not respond, this planned contract action will be converted to a full and open competition.
