Description
The National Park Service, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park (SAFR), has identified a requirement to solicit for the Drydocking of the Historic Schooner Alma. The successful contractor will funish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to complete the project. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Department of Interiors (DOI) National Business Center (NBC) web site at http://www.ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Interested contractors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the web site. Contractors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://www.ideasec.nbc.gov. The service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Subscribers to this service are ultimately responsible for reviewing the web site for all information relevant to this solicitation. Plan holders will be required to visit this web site periodically to check for amendments and other changes to the procurement documents. No other notifications will be sent. Project Description: The anticipated work includes, but is not limited to the following: repair underwater surfaces; bottom clean and draining; coat underwater surfaces; coat topside wood surfaces; replace two bottom planks; perform preventative maintenance on sea valves, engines, generator and propellers; and replace zinc anodes. Optional items include remove, inspect, repair restep masts and bowsprit; prepare and paint windless; reef and caulk main deck. This solicitation is pursued on a full and open competative basis. The National Park Service encourages and welcomes the participation of small business firms, minority-owned business firms, and women-owned business concerns. This is not a Request for Proposal. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available on/or about March 20, 2007. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 336611. A site visit date has been scheduled for 1:00 pm on March 27, 2007. Further details can be found in the Request for Proposals (RFP) document. Award selection will be based on the overall best value to the government after considering price and factors other than price.
