- GRCA Tuweep Generator Shed Acquisition THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) BUT INSTEAD A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit industry feedback regarding the size and layout of the building necessary to meet the current requirement. This information will be used in the development of the acquisition strategy and request for proposal for a new building being constructed at Grand Canyon National Park. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project will upgrade the current Tuweep electrical generating system by replacing the existing generator shed with an upgraded weather and noise resistant building. The new building will house generators, inverters, electrical panels, circuitry and battery banks in one building. The replacement building will be a free standing building in the approximate location as the current shed. The current generator shed is 20.5' in width and 18.5' in length. The old generator shed will be dismantled and the area rehabilitated. (Note: Tuweep Generator shed cannot exceed 23'X 22' in square footage). SPECIAL CONSIDERATION: Grand Canyon is only considering a foundation with 3 foot stem walls then block walls, rodent barriers, one bay door to remove generators and tin roof for this building. This building must be dust and rodent proof and stay at a temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit or cooler (outside temperature can reach an excess of 110 degrees Fahrenheit). The following will need to be stored in this building; " Two Propane Generators 7.5 -10 KW (Gillette or Onan preferred). " New Solar Array - 6 panels, BPs 3160B PV Module 160 Watt, 24 Volt " New Battery Bank - 24 GNB Absolyte 600 amp hour batteries " New Electronics - Xantrex SW Plus 4024 4.0 kW Sinewave inverters (2), Xantrex SW1 Stacking Cables, 10' 4/0 UL listed Battery Cable Set (5), Xantrex DCCB SW Plus Conduit Box (2), Xantrex DC250 250A Disconnect w/Enc, Xantrex GJ250 250A Breaker, Xantrex DCBB Negative/Ground Bond Block, TriMetric Meter 2020 Battery System Monitor, TriMetric Shunt 500A 50MV, Xantrex Inverter Bypass Switch 60A (2), Xantrex GSM Generator Start Module, Direct Power Top for BP-160/170-6 panel, 10 Meter MC Connector (3), PSPV PV Combiner (2), OB OBPV-15 Series Protection (6), Dell LA 302 DC lighting arrestor (2), OB MX60 MPPT Charge Controller (2), OB Remote Temp Sensor (2), CD 60A breaker (4), misc. conduit, wire, panel, j-boxes. ACQUISITION OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this RFI is to gain market research in order to determine the size and layout needed for the new generator building. SUBMITTAL: If interested, please submit your recommended building size with layout the proposed projected identified above. SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: Responses to this RFI should be in a Word.doc, not to exceed ten (10) pages.
