- DESC: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO W&E Platt Gun Mounts to provide the following items UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 13.106: Item Name: 001 Stainless Steel Platt Swing Mount, Mod 2 Qty: 8, 002 Stainless Steel Platt Swing Mount Mod 2 Clamp Qty: 20 The machine gun mount must be accurate and accessible by both commander and gunner for deployment over 135 degrees to the left and right of the turret frontal axis. The system must be capable of elevation to + 85 degrees and depression to - 50 degrees. The mount must be adjustable and / or lockable knuckle joints for increased weapon control or for setting arcs of fire. These weapon mounts must be able to mount on light armoured vehicles. Weapon types for the mounts will be M249 SAW and M240G. Name of Contractor: Platt Mounts ? USA INC 7 Byant Street Stafford, VA 22556-6213 The value of the contract is expected to be under $96,000.00. The item that is requested is the only item that meets the requirement with the specifications provided above. This purchase will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1 Para: 4. The anticipated award date is March 19, 2007. Interested persons may express their interest and demonstrate their capability, furnishing detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient for the Government to determine that a comparable source is available. The Government will be the sole determiner regarding an offeror?s ability to meet all requirements. The Government will consider all EOIs received prior to 3 days after date of publication of this synopsis before 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on that date. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Rawls at (760) 725-3236. The facsimile transmission must clearly identify this notice and the name of the contracting officer on the first page. Submitters bear the burden of ensuring that the EOI reaches the designated contracting officer on time and should allow a reasonable time for facsimile transmissions to be completed. All pages of the transmission must reach the office before the deadline specified and pages of a facsimile transmission that arrive in the office after the specified deadline will not be considered. The submitter bears the risk of non-receipt of facsimile transmissions and should confirm by telephone that any facsimile was received.
