Description

The U.S. Maritime Administration, South Atlantic Region Contracts Office, intends to solicit Ryerson Steel Corporation, 45 Saratoga Avenue, Devens, MA, 04132 on a sole source basis for 175 each T316 Grip Span Stair Treads, C/W Carrier Plates, Size 9-1/2? Wide x 2? High x 30? Long, manufactured with 14 gauge stainless steel. No other manufacturer makes this specific component, and the government does not possess the technical data necessary to permit another manufacturer to develop a comparable component. Therefore, this acquisition is not suitable for full and open competition. NAICS Code 423510 applies. Delivery will be to T.S. STATE OF MAINE, MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY, Pleasant Street, Castine, ME 04420. No Small Business requirements apply to this solicitation. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all firms purporting to be qualified to perform this requirement and expressing an interest in competing for this award received within ten(10) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. TOTAL ESTIMATED VALUE: less than $25,000.
