Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce/National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, a fixed price contract with Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC 20008. This action is being processed in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 - Only One Responsible Source or No other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirement and solicited in accordance with FAR 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items. The Government has a requirement to obtain hotel lodging and conference services. The National Minority Enterprise Development(MED) Week is an annual event sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency(MBDA) in collaboration with other federal and private sector partners. Each year MBDA and its partners mark the annaul observance of MED Week with a national conference. The National MED Week 2007 Conference will accomplish three things. The Conference will recognize the outstanding achievements/accomplishments of the Nation?s minority entrepreneurs and the members of their support networks; it will, through seminars, workshops, legislative forums and/or plenary sessions, provide conference participants business development information and resources; and it will provide minority businesses, government agencies, and private corporations a forum to exchange information on their product and services. This is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all information received will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties who believe they can meet the Agency?s requirement are requested to submit in writing an affirmative response demonstrating their technical capabilities. To be considered an affirmative response, all responses must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet the above requirements. In your response you must address each of the items listed above in sufficient detail to permit agency analysis to establish a bona fide capability to meet the requirement. Failure to submit documentation will result in the agency proceeding as stated above.
