- Description
- This is a solicitation notice for a proposed sealed bid construction contract for the construction of a 9200 square foot single story building at the American Lake division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The two primary functions of this building are: (1). provide facility computer center including office space, and (2) house sub-zero laboratory freezers in approximately 1000 square feet. The VA is seeking a general contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the proposed contract. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: civil, structural, roofing, exterior surfaces, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, various interior finishes. Work will also include the installation of fiber optic cable runs. There will be a pre-bid site inspection of the locations o/a April 11, 2007 at 10 AM in Building 6 Room 226, 9600 Veterans Drive, Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Division, Tacoma, WA. The construction cost range is $2,000,000 to $5,000,000. Contract completion time will be 360 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed price contract. This is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business set aside solicitation. The NAICS classification is 236220. The small business size standard is $28.5 million average annual receipts for 3 preceding fiscal years. Construction document bid packages will be available o/a March 29, 2007. As authorized by FAR 5.102(a)(7), solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the Washington Buildings Exchange website, http://www.bwxa.com. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and any amendments, and should re-visit the VA website periodically to look for any updates.
