Description
.0 ABSTRACT 1.1 This item describes the fabrication of structural steel angle as a substitute for angle cut from structural steel channel to the satisfaction of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). 2.0 REFERENCES/ENCLOSURES 2.1 References: 2.1.1 ABS Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels, 2007. 2.2 Enclosures: None. 3.0 ITEM LOCATION/QUANTITY/DESCRIPTION 3.1 Location: Contractor?s Facility. 3.2 Quantity/Description: 3.2.1 Structural steel angle, 15? x 4? x 30.6# plate, four (4) pieces, approx. 22 ft. long each, ABS Grade AH-32 or AH-36, (approx. 4,265 lbs.) 4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES 4.1 Material: None. 4.2 Services: ABS Surveyor Services. 5.0 NOTES 5.1 Performance Period: Structural steel angles shall be fabricated and delivered to the location detailed in para. 7.4 no later than 30 April 2007. 5.2 Provide copies of all material certifications, welding procedures, welder qualifications and NDT results to the ABS Surveyor and MSFSC Port Engineer. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS 6.1 All work performed shall be to the satisfaction of the ABS and the MSFSC Port Engineer. 6.2 All welders shall be ABS certified for welding ABS Grade AH-32 or AH-36 structural steel, as applicable. 7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED 7.1 Provide all labor, material, and equipment to fabricate four (4) pieces of 15? x 4? x 30.6# structural steel angle, as described in paragraph 3.2.1, using reference 2.1.1 for guidance. 7.1.1 Angles shall be fabricated from 30.6# (3/4?) ABS certified Grade AH-32 or AH-36 steel plate, using a double continuous fillet weld. 7.1.2 Provide copies of the material certificates to the ABS Surveyor and the MSFSC Port Engineer. 7.1.3 All edge preparation, fit-up, pre-heat, welding and testing shall be to the satisfaction of the attending ABS Surveyor. 7.2 Upon completion of repairs, conduct visual and non-destructive testing of the structural angle welds to the satisfaction of the attending ABS Surveyor. 7.3 Sandblast to near-white metal and apply one (1) full coat of pre-construction primer to all new structural steel angles after fabrication. 7.4 Transport the new structural steel angles via traceable means to the following address for delivery no later than 30 April 2007: Detyens Shipyards, Inc. 1670 Drydock Ave., Building #9 N. Charleston, SC 29405 POC: Artie Myers or Shane Bryant Phone: 843-746-1558 7.5 Manufacturer?s Representative: 7.5.1 MSFSC shall provide the services of an American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Surveyor to witness and approve the fabrication of the structural steel angles. 7.6 Preparation of Drawings: None. 8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 8.1 None additional. NOTE TO OFFERORS: ALL OFFERORS MUST BE REGISTERED IN CCR PRIOR TO AWARD. DELIVERY DATE IS NLT 30 APRIL 2007 AT DETYENS SHIPYARDS, INC.
