- NOTICE: This will serve as notification to all current and potential bidders/offerors on GSA contracts regarding the requirement of NFPA 1977, 2005 Edition, Standard on Protective Clothing and Equipment for Wildland Fire Fighting. In order to offer products certified to NFPA 1977, manufacturers must first be registered to ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems. No exceptions will be granted by the Wildland Fire Community. To participate in future GSA solicitations for NFPA 1977 compliant clothing and equipment, all manufacturers shall be registered to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Please note that it is possible for a contractor to offer an item 3rd party certified to NFPA 1977-2005 without being in full production. However, a manufacturer would be required to produce samples for the third party certification process. The manufacturer shall be ISO 9001 registered at the time of bidding. When the First Article is submitted, the product shall be certified as compliant to NFPA 1977-2005. Failure to meet this requirement will result in your bid/offer being eliminated from further evaluation for possible award.
