Description

FISC, Norfolk Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to acquire, on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, textbooks and publications from the U.S. Naval Institute?s Naval Institute Press. The textbooks and publications are required by the Naval Education and Training Professional Development and Technology Center (NETPDTC) Pensacola, FL for the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC), the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC), and Navy and Marine Corps libraries. The supplies are currently being furnished by the U.S. Naval Institute?s Naval Institute Press under contract N00140-02-D-0629. FISC, Philadelphia Office intends to modify the current contract in order to extend the period of performance for six (6) months until a follow-on contract is awarded. The anticipated period of performance of the proposed extension will be 01 April 2007 through 30 September 2007. U.S. Naval Institute?s Naval Institute Press, as incumbent, is considered the only source that can provide all required textbooks and publications in the required timeframe. The proposed modification solicitation will be conducted under the provisions for Commercial Items in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12. The solicitation will require the submission of a cost/price proposal. SEE NOTE 22
