- The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to procure the following printing services: Title: NSF 06-60, New Formulas for America?s Workforce: Girls in Science and Engineering (Volume 2) Quantity: 10,000 No. of Pages: 84 plus cover Size: 8 ?? x 11? Artwork: Electronic Mechanicals: QuarkXpress (Mac) and PDF for Print, dummy guide/mock-up and sample of Volume 1. Cover Stock: 80# Montauk White Dull Cover or comparable (must be at least 10% PCW - identify stock and content on quote). Cover Ink: Covers 1 and 4 print CMYK, bleeds all sides; Covers 2 and 3 do not print. Text Stock: 80# Montauk White Dull Text or comparable recycled stock (identify stock and PCW% content on quote). Text Ink: CMYK Binding: Silver Twin-loop Wire-O-Binding Varnish: Yes, all Cover Stock covers get full flood dull varnish or aqueous coating. (specify type on quote). Special: The Front and Back of the book will also include a protective .02 ml frosted vinyl page. Images/Graphics: Yes, in files. Bleeds: Yes, in files. Reverses: Yes, in files. CD-ROM: An already printed and replicated CD-ROM placed in a clear vinyl tamper-resistant/protective adhesive envelope/sleeve will be supplied to the Vendor who will then be required to affix them to either the inside front or back cover (TBD). Fold-Out: There is a fold-out (reverse fold) section at circle-folio pages 7 and 8 (4th sheet), which measures approximately 11" x 16 ?? flat (approximately 11" x 8 ?? folded). It prints one side only, CMYK. Proofs: Proofs should be an exact color match (specify type on quote) or else composite blueline. Press Inspection: A press inspection may be required ? Print Vendor must be within 50 miles of NSF (Arlington, Virginia). Author?s Alterations: Printer MUST also specify line item quote for changes, per hour. If applicable, author will make revisions to electronic files and/or note changes for vendor to make. When awarded, AAs shall be billed only when performed by the contractor and submitted on the invoice as a separate line item! The basis for the estimated changes are ?10? hours. This line item must include the cost for labor, materials, and stripping, if applicable. Delivery Locations: ? 100 copies to NSF, 4201 Wilson Blvd., Ste. 245, Arlington, VA 22230. (703-292-7532). ? Balance to be determined. Basis of Award: This requirement will be awarded on the basis of value to the government, price, ability to meet the schedule, past performance/demonstrated; and, ability to provide the requisite printing. This requirement is set aside for small businesses. All eligible sources may submit a quotation, which, if received before the deadline below, will be considered by NSF. NOTE: All NSF contract vendors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR): https://www.bpn.gov/CCR/scripts/index.html If you have not worked with the NSF, please provide information about your company, including equipment list, references, and any other information you feel would be relevant to this project.
