Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with TyRex Services Group, Ltd., of Austin, Texas, for the purchase of two (2) Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) Discovery 1100 Controller Boards. ***Sole Source determination is based on the following: The required equipment will be used to integrate with existing NIST equipment. Sole source determination is based on the need to maintain 100 percent compatibility with existing equipment at NIST. The DMD is solely manufactured by Texas Instruments. Tyrex Services Group, Ltd., is the sole U.S. distributor for the DMD boards. Texas Instrument does not sell to researchers directly.*** ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 30 days after receipt of order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541330, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by April 5, 2007. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
