- Lincoln, Nebraska Municipal Airport Airport Traffic Control Tower Fire Life Safety Project. This project replaces the ATCT fire alarm system at the Municipal Airport in Lincoln, Nebraska. NOTE: ARCHIVING DATE HAS CHANGED FROM 3/31/2007 TO 3/21/2007. SUMMARY OF WORK Scope of Work.- These specifications, together with referenced specifications, standards, and drawings specified in the contract documents cover the requirements for all work associated with fire and life safety upgrades at the Airport Traffic Control Tower in Lincoln, Nebraska. This work consists of the following: Removal and disposal of the the existing fire alarm and detection system including all wiring, devices and enclosures. Existing conduit may be reused where it meets the requirements for new conduit as delineated in these specifications but unused conduits shall be removed. The existing system is a Cerberus System 3. Furnish and install a complete UL listed and FM approved Fire Detection and Alarm System as described herein and as shown on the plans. The system shall be wired, connected, and left in fully operating condition. The Contractor is to provide all devices, equipment, conduit, wiring and labor necessary to provide a complete new approved fire detection and alarm system to replace the existing system. The contractor can install a new system and perform operational checks prior to removal of the existing system, or the system can be moved over one area at a time. If the Contractor chooses to move the system one area at a time, the contractor shall provide a fire watch for those times the system is inoperable. Connection of the existing Base Building fire alarm circuits to the new fire alarm control panel in the tower. Removal of the existing fire alarm annunciator panel in the base building and installation of a new annunciator and wiring. Removal of existing emergency light fixtures and exit signs; rewiring, and installation of new emergency lighting and exit signs throughout the building. Repair all surfaces disturbed by removal, replacement or installation of new equipment to match surrounding area. This includes repair of walls where existing devices or enclosures are removed. To be considered for award of the project the contractor must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (website: www.ccr.gov) TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE under $100,000 NAIC: 236220 - $31 million This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
