Description

The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Western Ecological Research Center, has a need for field work to locate and attach radio transmitters to 80 adult desert tortoises at study plots south of Daggett, San Bernardino County, California. The work is expected to take place in the spring 2007 (April). The Contractor shall provide people with high levels of expertise in finding adult desert tortoises, attaching radio transmitters, and evaluating them for clinical signs of health and disease. The Contract Supervisor/Contractor must hold a valid California Department of Fish and Game permit and must be named on both the federal and state Fort Irwin Desert Tortoise Translocation Permits. A fixed price type purchase order is contemplated for this requirement. Competitive procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, will be utilized. Award will be made to the offeror whose offer meets the requirements of the Request for Quotation (RFQ), price and other factors considered. It is anticipated that a RFQ will be issued and posted to this site on or about April 4, 2007 with quotations due on or about April 12, 2007. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered. This acquisition is set-aside for 100% small business participation. The associated NAICS code is 541690 - Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services, with an associated size standard of $6.5M. This notice and any resulting RFQ or purchase order conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-15, effective 12 February 2007.
