- The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HubZone Set-Aside or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business or Small Business Set-Aside. The estimated value of this procurement is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC NEAH BAY (WTGB-105). The homeport is Cleveland, OH. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 36 calendar days with a start date of August 20, 2007. The scope of the acquisition is: 1) Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks; 2) Inspect and Test Air Receivers and Relief Valves; 3) Perform Boat Boom Maintenance; 4) Overhaul Anchor and Anchor Chain; 5) Perform Anchor Windlass Maintenance; 6) Perform Vertical Capstan Maintenance; 6) Perform Vertical Capstan Maintenance; 7) Service 25-Man Life Rafts and Associated Hydrostatic Releases; 8) Modify Grey Water Tank System; 8) Modify Grey Water Tank System; 9) Clean Sewage and Grey Water Piping System; 10) Provide Temporary Berthing; 11) Provide Temporary Messing; 12) Provide Temporary Logistics; 13) Inspect Chain Locker; 14) Renew Hatches; 15) Clean Exhaust Stack Piping and Spark Arrestors; 16) Renew Life-Line Stanchions; 17) Overhaul and Renew Fixed Observation and Fort-Light Window; 18) Preserve Inspect and Insulate Paint Locker and Void; 19) Renew Deck Covering Systems; 20) Install Steering System Actuators; 21) Install Steering System Hydraulic Power Unit Cooler. Provide protective deck covering material. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The Geographic Restriction is Great Lakes. At the present time this acquisition is expected to be small business set-aside. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305 and FAR 19.1405, if your firm is and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a quotation for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and phone numbers; (c) Past Performance references with points of contacts and phone numbers. At least two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by April 6, 2007. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HubZone Set-Aside, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business or Small Business Set-Aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this acquisition will be pursued as HubZone Set-Aside, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Business Set-Aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the FEDBIZOPS website at http://www.eps.gov.
