- Description
- This is a Sources Sought Synopsis. The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting market research in support of the potential acquisition of Homeland Security/Escort Vessels with Aids to Navigation capability to support armed escorts, boarding operations, and intercepts of suspect vessels and conduct servicing of buoys and structures on the Western Rivers. Missions will be conducted along the Western Rivers in all weather conditions and seas up to 5 feet in height. The proposed vessel must be capable of operating approximately 2,700 hours per year broken down as 10% at maximum speed, 60% at cruising speed, 30% at idle, and is expected to be in service for 25 years. In order to conduct these missions the vessels must be highly maneuverable, have excellent seakeeping and be durable to withstand buoy deck operations. In addition to primary missions, the vessel must able to conduct other traditional Coast Guard missions such as recovering persons from the water, service aids to navigation and providing ?first responder? medical assistance including working with a stoke?s litter in the interior of the vessel. The preliminary requirements for this vessel are contained in the uploaded file under this synopsis.
