- DESCRIPTION: VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Thomas S. Mutz, 4108 S 147th Plz, Apt 301, Omaha, NE 68164 the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) FAC 2005-04. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. This procurement is to obtain expertise of an individual with extensive prior experience for providing conversion and deployment of IP equipment in the medical center. Specific knowledge of device type configurations processes with the VMS operating system, knowledge of specialized custom features implemented to support interfaces to the VistA application packages, knowledge of equipment locations and network configurations ( to include specifics associated with the VA Medical Center Wire Plant), knowledge of how to configure connections, knowledge of how to ensure configurations with the print server environment operates properly. The contractor has an intimate knowledge of the Omaha Medical Center and the unique problems present. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. All proposals received by 4:00 P.M. Central Time, April 3, 2007, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
