- The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Traning Systems (PMTRASYS) intends to award on a sole source basis to Motron Electronics., 1500 Renne Street, Eugene, OR 97402, to purchase twenty one (21) RSC-5 SAFIRE Light Emitting Simulators and two (2) handheld transmitters on a sole source basis from for the procurement, delivery of a total of two (2) handheld transmitters and twenty-one (21) RSC-5 lighting enclosures. The anticipated value of this contract is $25,300. The Motron Electronics RSC-5 SAFIRE Simulator is currently used at MCAS Yuma to simulate small arms and machine gun fire. An operator shall be able to activate lights on any of the lighting enclosures using a handheld transmitter. When the operator presses a button, the transmitter will send an RF signal to one of many lighting enclosures. The lighting enclosures, containing the RF receiver and lighting array, will receive the RF signal and activate the lights. At the minimum, a single rem ote control unit (handheld transmitter) shall be capable of controlling at least seven (7) banks of lighting enclosures simultaneously. The scheme shall enable non-technical range operators to easily change parameters through buttons or switches on the handheld transmitter and lighting enclosures, or via a laptop PC. Transmission frequencies will be discussed upon award of the contract. The contractor will furnish the necessary services, supplies, FOB destination delivery to the base at MCAS Yuma, Arizona within 30 days. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. Written response is requested within 15 days after publication of this notice. No phone calls will be accepted.
