Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) seeks a SDVOSB with previous VA experience working on update existing Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) at each of the Medical Centers within a VISN. The type of contract that is contemplated is a Firm fixed Price IDIQ AE with base and four one-year option. A four-person team from the IDIQ A/Es office will visit each facility and gather necessary information for the updates from a combination of touring problem areas, engineering staff interviews and a quick study of the summaries of available VAMC reports (such as Asbestos Study summary, Life Safety Statement of Conditions and Seismic Report where applicable). The existing FCA document will be used as a basis and edited during the visit. The four-person team shall be comprised of the following: Cost Estimator, Architect (to cover architectural and landscape architectural areas), Electrical Engineer (to cover electrical and transportation areas) and a Mechanical Engineer (to cover mechanical, plumbing & steam generation areas). Structural problems, if any, should be addressed by the most qualified team member. The IDIQ A/E should make every effort to utilize staff who participated in the firm?s previous VA FCA work to minimize the learning curve.
