Description
The Philadelphia VA Medical Center is seeking a qualified Architect /Engineer Services in order to develop plans and specifications for the construction and renovation of offices on the 8th and 9th floor of building #1. Areas in building #1 are over 50 years old. Total space involved is approximately 18,000 square feet. Work to include construction of new offices along with adequate staff workroom, and support space. In addition new staff toilets and a state of the art tele-conference room are also required in the design. Work to include new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, along with new electrical and fire protection systems. Since all work are to be completed over existing space, we are looking for an AE with a good background in renovation work. Design shall be in compliance with all applicable building codes and VA design standards. Copies of VA publications are available upon request from VA Engineering or on the internet at www.gov/facmgt/standard/va_stds.htm Design must meet all applicable and most current federal and state codes/requirements, i.e.: OSHA, EPA, DER, NFPA 101, JCAHO, AHERA, NESHAPS, NFPA, ASTM, PENNDOT, UFAS. The architect-engineer will make site visits as necessary to survey existing conditions as required to determine existing as-built conditions affecting this project. A/E shall field verify all dimensions, wall layouts, etc. A/E shall field verify every aspect that relates to the project. A/E shall coordinate visits with the Project Engineer. A/E must be proficient in the use of AutoCad 2000 and have access to Microsoft Word 5.0 or higher. The NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) code for this project is 541310. The estimated construction cost for this project will be $2,000,000 to $3,000,000. This is a medium sized project, which can be accomplished by any size firm. The firm should be balanced with a multidisciplinary organization. Joint ventures will be considered. There is no proposal available, just submit your SF 330 and/or any pertinent information by MAIL.
