- This is a pre-solicitation notification for a 37th Contracting Squadron, Lackland AFB, Texas, requirement for non-personal laundry and dry cleaning services. An electronic solicitation for this requirement is anticipated to be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov around or about late April 2007 and early May 2007. The successful offeror/contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, transportation, etc., necessary to perform laundry and dry cleaning services for Department of Defense linen and clothing requirements at approximately 45 locations at Lackland AFB, Kelly Annex, Camp Bullis, the 433rd Airlift Wing, and various locations in and around the San Antonio, Texas area. Linen and/or clothing items will be weighed in pounds and/or counted by number of pieces on an annual basis. Pick-up and delivery service is required for an annual estimated 4.9 million pieces of laundry and dry cleaning items. Separate containers will be required for transporting clean and soiled linen. The successful contractor shall comply with the requirements of the performance-based work statement, which will be included in the anticipated solicitation. Work is described as laundering and dry cleaning of items in a manner that will ensure items are cleaned in accordance with commercial standards. The North American Standard Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for this acquisition is 812320 with an associated small business dollar size standard of $4.5 million. The Service Contract Act of 1965 applies to this acquisition, and this requirement will be set-aside for 100% small business participation. The anticipated performance period is 1 October 2007 to 30 September 2012, which includes four (4) one-year option periods. However, there is no guarantee that the option periods will be exercised. All responsible and potential small business offerors may submit proposals in response to the anticipated solicitation, and all submissions will be considered.
