- *****See small business size standard below***** The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing this Sources Sought Announcement to determine the interest and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, and Small B usiness concerns. The following is a description of the project: 17 acres (estimated) of the flood tidal shoal of Ninigret Pond in Charlestown, RI will be dredged to a depth of about 0.75 meters (2.5 feet) below MLW. This will require the removal of abou t 40,000 cubic yards (cy) of dense sand. The material will be removed by hydraulic means and be pumped directly, via pipeline, to the nearby Charlestown Town Beach for disposal. Dredging will take place in very shallow conditions. The dredged material wi ll be deposited in the intertidal zone of the beach and be shaped by wave action. The estimated cost of this work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code for the work is 237990 with a small business size standard of $18.5 million. Work will t ake place between November 2007 and March 2008. Interested contractors should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification size (e.g. 8(a), HUBZone, etc.), projects similar to the work described above, and a list of equi pment. Responses should be limited to five pages. This is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. Responses are required no later than 16 April 2007. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The governmen t will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
