- On behalf of the Viginia Contracting Activity, the Contracting Officer intends to award on a sole source basis an IDIQ contract to Sun Microsystems Federal, Inc., 7900 Westpark Dr. Suite A110, Mc Lean, VA, 22102-4236. This requirement is for the Mission System Support Program which shall provide the agency a means to task on a T&M basis the Contractor?s Professional Services resources and related products. Those resources may be tasked when necessary to fulfill specific end user requirements by mutual agreement of the COR and Sun PM. The resources are specialty skill sets which include, but not limited too, IT architecture, SAN technology, network technology, performance management and tuning, applications, web or dbase technologies, and/or administration of heterogeneous systems. Participate in design and integration work sessions with the Customer and other contractors as it relates to Sun branded and other ancillary mission-critical technology. Assist in evaluating, implementing, and performance testing of new software products. Identify performance bottlenecks in system hardware, software, networks, applications, and configurations. Diagnose risks of the current architectures and configurations, identify and rank alternative plans for resolving the issues, and assist in implementing the chosen solution. Provide technical support for High Availability (HA), clustered and Storage Area Network (SAN) environments. Provide Sun certified Solaris operating system technical support in accordance with Sun's System Availability Guarantee (SAG) requirements for mission-critical systems. Act as a conduit to Sun corporate (through Sun Wide Area Network ?SWAN access) for latest proprietary technical information that is pertinent to DIA requirements/ applications. Assist with the deployment of high-end Sun servers(SunFire 3800-6800, F12-F15K, etc.) as well as other mission critical technology. Provide Software Patch and Upgrade Installation as required, system installations, moves, and upgrades. The announcement is in accordance with FAR 5.303(a).
